Thousands of people wrote personal notes after my husband's death, expressing condolences, reliving good memories and extolling Ray's virtues. He was tenderly remembered with many beautiful, heartfelt emotions shared by people who knew and loved him. Although I can't print all of them here, following are examples of the tremendous outpouring of thoughts and feelings I received.

Cards and Letters from Friends

A man who lived life - every minute of it.

My father (Red Auerbach) admired and respected him for his principles, his loyalty and for who he was, a man of integrity.

Ray was larger than life. His spirit, character and drive were an inspiration to all.

From Ray’s Family And Extended Family

My dad was a wonderful man and father. He was always there when I needed him. He instilled many qualities in me such as being responsible, caring and understanding. The most wonderful quality I have gained from him is to give to others, especially those not as fortunate as we are. He’s a tough act to follow but certainly one to aspire to.

From People Who Worked For Or With Ray

Friday, January 28th, 2011

I always looked forward to sitting next to Ray at Industry events and discussing the problems of the world and how to solve them. Besides our close friendship, he was sort of like my second father, and was very special to me. There was no one in our industry that was more loved and respected than Ray.

Cards and LettersHaving worked for him for sixteen years, it is no secret that I admired him tremendously.

He can never be replaced. Mr. Tye was an angel on earth; he is now one in heaven.

I celebrate his life that made this world a brighter and better place.
